Mosques Visit Information
We warmly welcome you to Lincoln Central Mosque and Cultural Centre. Whether you are a school, local college, or local community group you can be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome at our mosque.
A mosque visit is a valuable opportunity to learn about Islam, explore the mosque as a place of worship, and to ask any questions you may have. Visits are held Monday to Thursday beginning at 10am and usually last 60-90 minutes per session.
During the visit, guests will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about the basic beliefs and practices of Islam
- Explore the mosque building and its key features
- Observe or learn about Muslim prayer
- Ask questions in a friendly and welcoming environment
Visits can be tailored to suit different age groups and educational needs. We can only accommodate 40 visitors per visit in total for health and safety reasons.
Please note that there are certain times of the year where visits will be unavailable due to other activities taking place in the mosque.
- Dress code: There is no specific uniform or religious clothing required for visitors. However, we ask that visitors dress modestly and ensure that their arms and legs are covered. Tops should reach below the navel.
- Headscarves: Female visitors are very welcome to wear a headscarf if they wish, but there is absolutely no obligation for visitors to do so.
- Shoes and Storage: Shoes must be removed before entering the prayer hall. Storage areas will be available.
- Behaviour: As the mosque is an active place of worship, we ask visitors to behave respectfully and keep noise to a minimum.
- Prayer times: Visits may take place around daily prayers. Your guide will explain what to expect during prayer times.
- Arriving on time: Please try to arrive no earlier than 10-15 minutes before your scheduled visit. Our gates may be locked if you arrive too early.
Visits are always free, and we rely on the kindness of voluntary donations to keep serving our community. Thank you for your support.
